A Train Runs Through It
Vic and Angelo's is owned by the same chain that brings you The Office, one of Delray's current hotspots. Must be something about the corporate culture there, because both operations get pretty bad reviews for the arrogant service and bad attitudes. I didn't experience that personally, but many others apparently have.
V&A serves Italian comfort food, with the traditional tomato sauces, high in calories and accordingly very flavorful. Portion sizes are large, and the restaurant itself is massive. On weekends it can get really noisy, but the train is a real showstopper..
V&A sits right next to the track - like 20 feet. For some reason, you really can't hear the train coming until it is right in front of the door, at which point it scares the bejesus out of everyone. I actually thought it was coming through the restaurant it was so loud and sudden. Not charming or romantic.
V&A has decent food, especially the coal fired pizza and pastas. I never saw anything else that looked that great, and there aren't many recommendations based on the food. It is crowded though, and is a bit of a scene on weekend nights, so pick your times carefully.
