John G's, which derives its name from owner John Giragos, is an old-fashioned enterprise that has occupied a scenic spot fronting Lake Worth's public beach. John G. opened his restaurant doors in December of 1973 and has been open year-round for breakfast and lunch seven days a week ever since. John G's has been a family affair with Keith and Jay Giragos as extremely gifted Chef Managers and Wendy Giragos Yarbrough as the highly personable and efficient Dining Room Manager. He has also been very grateful for his loyal patrons and the outstanding good help that he has attracted. John G's has been honored by numerous awards over the past years and spends a good deal of time and effort serving the community that has welcomed the family and the restaurant so warmly.

John G's has been around forever, and so have many of their customers. It's a perennial favorite because it delivers great quality food at reasonable prices while delivering good service. It's the best brunch and lunch spot in the area, if not the county, and a tourist landmark across the street from Lake Worth Beach (which is less memorable).
To enjoy it, you will probably have to stand in line, which often snakes around the block. Things move pretty quickly though and the staff really hustles to meeet everyone's needs. Reportedly, they serve 900 breakfasts a day.
Inside it is an old-school coffee shop. Breakfast is the big thing here. Eggs casino are reported to be excellent, as are their omelettes and french toast with almonds. Also check out their canadian bacon, a specialty.
I had lunch there, specifically the fried fish and chips - it was among the best fish and chips I have ever had. Just the right amount of crunchy crust, piping hot, and some spicy world-famous tartar sauce (that they ought to bottle and sell).
Many of their dishes offer a choice of fruit instead of fries. We're not talking a half cup of canned fruit cocktail, but BIG servings of delicious looking fresh fruit - great presentation. All portion sizes are BIG.
They have all sorts of other entrees - salads, burgers, sandwiches, etc. The club sandwich went by, looking divine, and I was almost sorry I hadn't checked it out. But the fish and chips was killer.
Two money issues worth noting: John G's is CASH ONLY. Also bring a roll of quarters, because parking is $1.50 an hours, quarters only. With a roll of quarters, you can double dip - breakfast at John G's, hit the beach, then lunch. A 2fer!
A true family owned old-fashioned gem, although a little touristy now. Worth some extra effort to try.
