Good Casual Greek in German village
Easy street serves reliably good Greek and American fare from a street front location in the south of German Village. Casual and laid back, they serve a mean martini, great gyros and pizzas, and a variety of bar food and Greek specialties.
One immediate problem here is parking - you're in German Village and it's a pain. I've had to park all the way down at Little Red Rooster on occasion.
This is a neighborhood spot, not too large, and easily over-run by its loyal repeat customers. The customer base is fairly young and hip. They have a pretty big bar, which can help keep you occupied util a table is ready. They don't really take names, but somehow they seem to know whose turn is next. Try to stay away from the door in the winter. Booths opposite the bar aree primo seats.
For lunch their gyro is hard to beat although they also serve great burgers and other sandwiches. I don't know why their French Onion soup is so good but it is excellent. Weekends brings out their brunch menu, with big omelettes, pancakes, etc. Dinner is our favorite, though, because they always have a delicious special. Their condiments are excellent - tsatsiki and hummus are both out of this world, and they have a feta that is really special. even if you are not normally woild about Greek, give this place a try.
Fun, hip, casual, good drinks, way above average food, with good service in a cute neigborhood cafe.
