Marshall's Restaurant

Marshall's has been a Grandview institution for decades. It statedout as just a neighborhood cafe, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to nearby families. It still does that, but has added on a bar that attracts a hit-or-miss crowd including gays.

The bar is famous for it's long and dirt cheap happy hours, a great outdoor patio, and some upscale games including darts, air hockey, pool tables, and golden tee live.

We came for breakfast, for which they are justifiably famous and proud. Their products are really fresh, and tastes great. I know an egg is an egg, and bacon is bacon, and sausage is sausage, but these are especially good. The eggs are very fresh, the (thick and crispy) bacon is cooked to perfection, and the sausage patties are just outstanding. My wife tried the bacon and cheese omelette and she loved it. Service was fast and friendly.

I have been at night as well, but it has been years (before the Old Bag opened next door, maybe 15 years ago. I just remember that the burgers are terrific, and there is non-stop stream of young families looking for a moderately priced homecooked meal. That's still available too.

Great place. Evey community needs one of these, and there aren't many independents that are as successful as this.
